Service was outstanding, the food was OK, and the place was cute but wasn't super clean. Ribs were good, but the portion was very small - especially for price. While it was definitely half a rack, the ribs were tiny. Brisket & pulled chicken were ok - a little dry. Coleslaw was super dry and tasteless. The best value on the menu is the bowl, which is a combination of meat and sides layered in with plenty of topping options. They go heavy on the sides, light on the meat. Great craft beer selection and a fun "cheers vibe" to the bar.

We had Smoke cater a graduation dinner in our home this evening. Everything was done to perfection. We had a variety of meats – brisket, pulled pork, and pulled chicken – plus barbecue tofu. For sides, we had mac & cheese, baked beans, coleslaw, and cornbread. All of our guests complimented the food and wanted to know more about Smoke and how it had been in Bethesda so long without them knowing about it. Unfortunately, not a good experience. Ordered a 2 meat Platter with Ribs and Brisket with a side of Tater Tots. The Ribs were dry and tough, they did not taste fresh. The Brisket tasted good, but it was sliced so thin, and there was so little of it, that it was lost on the tray. The slaw that was served with the Platter was gray in color, and looked so unappealing, we didn't try it at all. The Bartender waited on us, and he was friendly and helpful. We walked into a nicely decorated barbecue place on Cordell Avenue in Bethesda- first time never even heard of it before and apparently it's been there 5 years. I like barbecue I like reasonably priced delicious barbecue. This could be the place near home, how did I miss hearing about this place thank goodness for Google. We had a complete meal and everything was really good I recommend going here for dinner on one of those days when you really want barbecue or if you can't decide what to eat try this place.
