We stopped in at the Peking Inn tonight for dinner. The restaurant was quite busy and appears to be a popular choice for the locals. We were seated at a lovery booth and were brought some nice hot tea by our terrific server, Maddie. Maddie asked if we had any questions about the menu as this was our first time at the restaurant. We asked about the soups and entrees and decided on two cups of egg flower soup with the crispy noodles as our appetizer. We then ordered our entrees with orange chicken and beef and broccoli. We all liked the food here. It was higher priced than other Chinese restaurants, but I think that's good. We should value more cuisines and treat them less like cheap commodities. Our server Ashland was very nice and checked in on us multiple times. She helped us to get a custom eggplant and black bean dish that was very good. The interior is a fun mix of haute 80s pink and muted kailedoscope. Even the tablecloths are pink. It's a fun throwback vibe.

We sat down and were immediately served hot tea and crispy noodles—honestly, enough reason to come back right there. The service was amazing, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. I stopped at this restaurant during a motorcycle trip and ordered a lunch to go. The lunch included rice and soup, but since I was riding a motorcycle, I couldn't safely take the soup. I politely asked if I could have rolls ,or salad instead. The staff member responded very rudely, saying, "The soup is complimentary. If you don't want the soup,it is your problem . We can't instead of soup give you rolls or salad." For me it sounds like "Take it or leave it." It wasn't about the soup—it was about the attitude and customer service.
