We had a great time Sunday night trying Pagu, another of Boston’s Michelin-recognized restaurants, with our friends, a lot of funny stories, & some very good food. Some of the plates we tried were truly outstanding. The duck confit paella was the second best I’ve ever had, which is higher praise than it might seem. The chicken Karaage was excellent, as were the knife cut noodles with pork, the crab laksa, & the suckling pig bao “for 2” (which was enough for all of us to try, & then some). The miso roasted black cod seemed a bit small, I didn’t quite get their rendition of the patatas bravas

We were so excited to try Pagu after seeing it that it made the Michelin list! First impressions were good: the restaurant was spacious, bright and airy. But that was about it. The food and service were average at best. My absolute favorites were the Chicken Karaage and the Duck Config Paella. The other dishes were mid at best. The crab laksa was a total scam. And their "suckling pig" was really pulled pork sprinkled with pork rinds. Why the dishonesty?? Don't get me started on the slow and tired service. I come to this after visiting the its rivals (Khungry and Sumiao) and Pagu is definitel

Spice level was perfect on everything. Ceviche was not “fishy” at all but had a very nice taste. Karaage was fried perfect and sweet and spicy was great mix on it (no sauce really with it besides what it is tossed in). Chefs knife cut noodles were just okay.

I had the paratas bravas, cod croquettes, noodle, and ramen. Paratas bravas was great, cod croquettes was good, noodle was great, and ramen was great. Ramen's broth was incredible but the meat wasn't pleasant to bite. I liked the matcha cookie very much. It is an affordable place. The service was very friendly. Ambiance is nice. The place is kid friendly. They offer noodle without spice. Overall decent restaurant.
