The Restaurant was really good. We parked on the street but there is a parking lot in the back. We went around 8pm and had a 25 minute wait for a table. Place was kinda loud but not too loud to have a conversation. Waiter was top notch and recommend we try the raspberry chipotle sauce with our sweet potato fries. We got the big mozzarella sticks. After having a terrible Mother’s Day experience at another restaurant(Doosys Diner) , we stumbled upon State Fare and I’m honestly so glad we did! Even though they were super busy, they were able to seat us right away while we had already been left waiting almost 2 hours at our original reservation elsewhere. The food and drinks were amazing! My boyfriend took me here for happy hour. Drinks were good and the food was delicious. But when i glanced at the bill i see 20% gratuity added. Okay no problem only it wasn’t correct. When i further examined i see they charge 20% gratuity on the regular price not the total amount charged for your bill for the happy hour prices. When i asked the waitress she says oh yeah they do that to make sure we get paid. Then the manager he says oh yeah that’s how we do it. And then says i will bring it up to our general manager. UPDATE!! Went back today and the food was very disappointing. If the cheesesteak came out as it did today, the first time- we would've never went back. First off, the bun was sliced all the way through, sandwich style, therefore no longer a "cheesesteak". The cheese tasted more like white american, not sharp Cooper. Definitely a difference in taste. Shrimp and grits were okay. Nothing great, lack of flavor for sure. Anyway, time to give this place a break and wait a while before we return. ========================= Love this place.
