My husband and I have been wanting to try this place and we came for a late lunch. OMG the mixed ceviche was crazy good. I loved the fried plantains that came with it to scoop up all that deliciousness. We also got the mixed empanadas on appetizer list: crisp, hot. A good sample. We'll be back to try more! I’m so glad my youngest (14,16) grands are adventurous when it comes to trying foods from other cultures. Fogonero is tucked into a newish strip center near the old Cedar Park Walmart. Grandsons were out of the country for Christmas and we wanted to give them their gift and take them to lunch. I gave them several options based on yelp recommendations and they decided they wanted to try Venezuelan food. Great choice boys!!! The food here was AMAZING! And our server Will was friendly and attentive. We had the mini empanadas and yuca sticks for appetizer. Both superb! They also had an avocado cream sauce and another spicier sauce on the side. Sampled them first to determine the spice level, I was so pleasantly surprised that I would have ordered these condiments as a meal themselves. The husband got the yellowfin tuna as his main and I got shredded beef, with rice, eggs, plantains, black beans, avocado and fried cheese. It was the perfect combination of flavors. Food was DELICIOUS. Everything we ate was a definite repeater. Service- the girl was super friendly, not much of an English speaker but she tried and we were okay with it. She gave great food recommendations. Atmosphere was what you would expect in a strip ce ter but clean. We will be back!
