My experience at Segundo Dining Hall was very upsetting. I found an insect inside the food, and when I reported it, I felt like the issue was not taken seriously. A food safety concern like this should be handled with respect, urgency, and accountability. Instead, I felt dismissed and treated like I was the problem for speaking up. Even worse, I felt like the situation was escalated against me and reported to OSSJA, rather than being handled as a legitimate food safety concern. As a community I have eaten at Sugundo (mostly dinners) many times over the last seven years. As the prices have increased (which I understand) the selections and quality has decreased substantialy. Often there is no salt/pepper avaliable, the soda or ice tea machines are not working. It appears that UCD has changed the catering company. Why is it that there is no ice tea at Tercero? Plese bring back the cloth napkins.
