I was very excited for the nigiri, but it honestly just tasted like salt. It was drowned in salt and sauce and couldn’t really taste anything else. I got a couple maki rolls off their happy hour menu, and for the price it was some good rolls, but wouldn’t seek out again. The miso soup had some great mushrooms and I would recommend.

Excellent experience at Blue Sushi. This was our first time at the restaurant, and the experience was great from start to finish. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and they made excellent menu suggestions, which we really appreciated as first-time guests. Interior is awesome, really good vibes, Food is great, I've tried a lot of the menu now and most of it is top notch. The classic sake salmon maki roll is made with a good amount of fresh salmon. The tempura maki roll is a good mix of flavors and textures. The beef hot rack actually surprised me with how flavorful the beef/sauce was. This place is one of Des Moines's gems.

Very nice atmosphere, well lit and spacious with great outdoor seating options as well. The happy hour when you choose is a great option with excellent prices on popular dishes! I've never seen a place offer such a wife take off time for happy hour! Loved the music soup and sushi rolls we selected! Our server, Symphony, was very attentive and helpful! We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a lovely dessert big enough to share! Great experience!
