Mars has great coffee drinks, and I love their seasonal lattes - always something creative. The coffee flavor always shines through, even with the different flavors. But, they also have some of the best matcha in town - it's a vibrant green and has enough flavor you can taste it in your drink. It's not presweetened, so you can adjust the level to your preference, which is a big plus too! On a trip to visit family in the area, we stayed up the street from this shop and we were so thankful to have it so close! We are admittedly coffee snobs and when we saw this listed we knew we had to try it. We loved it so much we went back every morning of our trip!!! Wonderful baristas and great coffee! We love a good community hub and specialty coffee all in one. It was a highlight of our time in Des Moines. I would tell anyone to make this a must go if your in the area!

Stopped in just to kill some time and ended up staying almost two hours. Coffee was good but honestly the atmosphere is what stood out more. People working on laptops, a few students studying, somebody reading in the corner. Nothing feels rushed here. Music was low enough that you could actually have a conversation. Kind of the place you end up returning to without really planning to.
