Had birria for the first time. It was fire. This is a damn solid, unpretentious spot for authentic Mexican food. They cook the kinds of dishes that are universally popular while also incorporating rarer dishes with more obscure meats and vegetables. They know what they are doing and are proud to show it off to those who come searching. Everything about this place is comforting. Will definitely be coming back for more.

Hands down, they have one of the best chilaquiles de mole! They have such great flavor accompanied with the cheese, sour cream, scrambled eggs and beans. The Fonda especial dish is really good too. It comes with chilaquiles (not too spicy which is great), chicharrón verde, scrambled eggs, beans, and asada. Their iced cafe de olla and horchata are really good, except next time I would like less whipped cream on it. I will definitely be returning to try their other breakfast items and lunch options. I ordered the beef tongue dish because it sounded interesting. And boy was it delicious...Highly recommend it. It was one of the best tongue dish I have ever had. We had our own sitting area in the back for our large party, server was nice. Initially they got my dish wrong but they were very nice about changing it to the correct one. My kid and friends kid got the nuggets and fries that were yummy. French toast was also good.
