Update! I had to stop in and try the new Summer Catch menu it did not disappoint! 🇺🇸🦞 The menu is stacked with patriotic summer favorites from burgers, salads, and hot dogs to LOBSTER! And don’t judge me… I had to try BOTH lobster rolls 😂 They’re serving up both a Connecticut-style and Maine-style roll, and honestly? Both were incredible. Tender, buttery lobster piled onto perfectly toasted buns… absolute perfection. And the service? Almost as amazing as the food! Huge shoutout to Rachel for being so friendly, welcoming, and adorable. I am trying to figure out a way to explain what the Friendly's experience is for those who have never been. The best I can come up with is imagine if a diner and Denny's had a love child. Friendly's has been around for years. I used to love going to it as a kid. I arrived at this one at about 5:00 on a Saturday. It was pretty crowded. The parking lot was full. As I look around, I see a lot of middle school, high school and families with children there. So it seems like the tradition of an attracting younger taste buds still holds true. It was a fun place to stop in for meal and an ice cream. I remember Friendly’s from when I was a kid, especially when we would venture up around Boston. Like the old Howard Johnson’s, it was a fun place to get a meal and ice cream sundae. The menu is loaded with fried foods, so you have to explore the menu for a healthy choice. It would be fun for an occasional fried clam order and sundae. They have an option for seniors that gets you a free scoop of ice cream. It is a fun nostalgic trip into the past. Extremely pleased with the food, staff and overall experience. However, I must add that they’ve gotten stingy with their icecream. I do not like ordering by oz. (Who knows weight and ate they really weighing it out), should still be by the scoop like. Large sundaes are not close to full bowl like they used to be (with their 5 scoop sunda) but yet are still pictured that way on the menus and ads on tables. Felt like there wasnt enough ice cream to go with its toppings. But wasnt so bad that wont stop me from returning. Still delicious 👍🏼
