This is my second time visiting Island spa on my birthday! I think my favorite part is the bath houses. One critique I have is that there’s not much variety in the bath houses or the saunas. However, the ambiance is very peaceful and relaxing. The first time I got a massage it was amazing. My second massage was okay. The food was pretty good. Overall, I’d still keep returning. Also very clean! Lots of areas for relaxation.

My wife and I recently spent the day at Island Spa in Edison and honestly had a really relaxing experience. The facility was extremely clean, well maintained, and had a calm atmosphere throughout. The food options were surprisingly good for a spa, and the different relaxation areas made it easy to completely unplug for a few hours. I have now been to both Island spa and King spa. Island spa is easily 5 stars, but in different ways. Pros The general building is much more modern, and maybe a bit cleaner. We saw people actively mopping and wiping throughout our afternoon. There are various seating areas and places to work. Various saunas, although most run quite hot in the 140 range. Not my cup of tea. I went last weekend, and it was packed—they even had a waitlist and eventually stopped letting people in. It felt more like a hangout spot for college kids. There were groups of young girls giggling and talking in the saunas, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the quiet atmosphere. The yoga room was open to anyone and could probably fit about 20 people, but there were easily 40 people in the class.
