I had heard this place was popular, so I’d been wanting to visit for a long time. Escondido itself was also a really nice area. We went right after opening, and wow—there was already a line. That really shows how popular it is! This time, we ordered the Bench Burger, the Chorizo Diabolo, and fries. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere feels a bit like a sports bar. There’s a great selection of beers, and they also offer a variety of shakes. After a fun day at the San Diego Safari Park, we stopped by Burger Bench, and we absolutely loved it. We ordered the Classic Burger, which was surprisingly juicy and flavorful even though we asked for it well done. The Mushroom Swiss Burger was just as impressive, with a rich, complex flavor that really stood out. The tater tots were a highlight, perfectly crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with your choice of sauce. I can’t remember which sauce we picked, but whatever it was, it was delicious! We’d definitely go back if we’re ever in the area again.
