I have been there a few times. Most importantly, the service is good, and the waitstaff are friendly. I felt welcomed. The prices are reasonable, and the facilities are well-kept. It is certainly one of the better local pubs in town. They also make a decent cocktail. The food left a little to be desired... a group of friends tried a variety of items (crabby fries, pizza, shrimp, I think the fish & chips- some sort of fried fish- and something else I can't recall). Consensus was that it was okay, just not much flavor. Still, when you consider all factors, they're a solid choice, and I feel like

March 3, 2024 - Enjoyed lunch with friends at Former Mayor Jennifer Dougherty’s new pub. . . Magoo’s ! Long time acquaintances of J. D. and recall her 1st restaurant, “ Jennifer’s “ ( 1987 - 2008). She’s opened Magoo’s on West 2nd Street in 2009, similar Irish ☘️ theme, a bit smaller. The menu has several familiar items, with more salad & sandwich options! Guinness Lamb Stem Shepherd’s Pie ( with lamb) Fish & Chips Chicken & Chips Irish Bangers & Apples Vegan Sage Sausage & Apples 6 types of Salads Over 20 Sandwiches ( Burgers) *Vicki’s Chicken Club *Crabby Tom Melt *BBQ Shrimp & Bacon

We visited last week and was disgusted by the manager/owner's behavior. While the food was good, we will not patronize an establishment that is racist and snobbish. We watched the older woman with short hair treat customers of color with disrespect. She was condescending and rude to them, talking down to them like they were stupid. Just googled to see that she's a former Frederick mayor and real estate agent. What an embarrassment. Listen. People pay to eat out so treat them with respect and basic courtesy.
