We had a fantastic experience at Maize + Mash in Glen Ellyn! We started with the Wild Fields cocktail, which was incredibly flavorful and a great way to kick off the meal. For entrees, we had the Maize + Mash Burger with truffle fries—cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. We also tried the braised short rib grilled cheese with a side salad, which was a solid choice and full of flavor. Our waitress, Maize, was very nice and attentive, even while the restaurant was busy. The atmosphere was chill, calm, and made for a really enjoyable dining experience. This was my first time here at Maize + Mash. The decor is modern with a touch of vintage flair, in that, it looks similar to a converted restaurant that you would find in Pilsen area of Chicago. The food was delicious but the menu was limited, I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with roasted Brussel sprouts, wings topped with bourbon BBQ sauce were delicious. Their drinks is what people come here for, specialty cocktails were tasty, alot of them are bourbon based, however, they didnt seem to have Woodford Reserve. This is the first time I have been to the restaurant. The special of the day was $1 wings but you had to order a minimum of four. The burger was surprisingly good. Cooked well and tasty. The salmon salad was very good. The server forgot to bring refills that we asked for on our drinks. He was a little absent. The atmosphere was good. a little loud but it's a bar......I would go back again.
