We started with the fried lobster dumplings, which were incredible, and for mains had the statler chicken and the braised short ribs—both cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Dessert sealed the deal: the white chocolate blueberry cheesecake and the flourless chocolate cake were both superb. Honestly one of the best dinners I’ve had in quite some time. I've been looking all over for the perfect shoestring fries since my go to closed. These really hit the spot and the portion was sooo generous. Will be coming back just for this dish. The service was also great! The server took careful notes of my dietary restrictions and was very friendly. The busser was super prompt with water refills. My husband's dish and the appetizer were also great but didn’t impress quite as much as the hangar steak.

Most restaurants had already closed for the night, and we were about ready to give up when we thankfully found Franklin Cape Ann. This small, cozy restaurant welcomed us even at that late hour. At first they brought out fresh bread before our appetizer, which was very nice. The grilled octopus was excellent. I had the pasta of the day with perfectly cooked shrimp.
