I stopped by Dauphine's after a long day at a professional development workshop. I wasn't looking for a full meal, just a place to relax and grab a bite, and the bar seemed like a good fit. I enjoyed the open-air feel of the bar area while still being connected to the restaurant. I ordered the chicken gumbo with potato salad. The gumbo was okay, but it didn't really stand out to me. The potato salad, however, was outstanding and easily the highlight of the meal. What really made the visit enjoyable was the service. Had a great brunch experience with our group of 10! Made reservations and were seated immediately. From baked oysters, gumbo, assorted bread and raw oysters as appetizers to steak & eggs, chicken waffles and crab cakes as entrees; the food flavoring was decadent and divine. The food was very well seasoned. We also ordered the beignets and pineapple cake for dessert. Service was fast and very efficient.

Dauphine's is a wonderful New Orleans restaurant in the heart of D.C. It is beautifully decorated with seating on the floor, in the bar, or way up high in the balcony. We started with the Bread Service, Fried Boudin Balls, and Potato. I highly recommend the Fried Boudin Balls. Our table ordered the Grilled Yellowfin Tuna, Blackened Catfish Creole, Baked Stuffed Shells, the Roast Beef Po Boy, and Shrimp and Sausage Gumbo. All dishes were very, very good. The bread selection is a must try - all very delicious! Besides that we all like the Tuna - tastes fresh and light. The baked Alaska was sold out so maybe better book it first. Tried the Beignet and they were very good.
