Made an online reservation for 7 and was seated by 650. Business casual vibe and attire. The bar cheese was pleasant, the lioness and bitter hollow cocktails were excellent. I had the bison short ribs which were somewhere between venison and beef in flavor with a wonderful potato cake and carrots. The huckleberry sauce was surprisingly hearty with just a touch of sweetness. She had the cedar plank salmon and was pleased to find the dijon was not overpowering but pleasant, with great mashed potatoes and stellar brussel sprouts. We finished with a great red velvet cheese cake and a coffee creme

We went to dinner at this fabulous restaurant in Grand Rapids. Scholar is such a beautiful space. It has three distinct levels. We sat in the Study on the lower level. The study was beautifully decorated, warm and inviting. Cameron took care of us. Nice guy and attentive. Hubby and I started with cocktails. He had an interesting bourbon drink with aperol and amaro. It was so good - and pretty! I had my usual bees knees. Missed the mark unfortunately. It had some fizz, which it should just be gin, lemon and honey. No soda. This was such a lovely experience with amazing food. We were in the study which has just the most amazing atmosphere. It drowns out all of the city noise and the noise from the rest of the restaurant so it really feels like your sitting in the study of a stately manor somewhere. The drinks were good but the food was so much better. I had their seasonal flatbread which I think is one of the best things I've ever eaten. I also had the dirty chai creme brulee for dessert and it was so decadent. The service here is top notch. They really went out of their way to make it special. I can't wait to go

From aesthetic to the staff, the atmosphere at Scholar is cozy in the best way. The whimsical swirling fire lamps drew us inside, and we were greeted by kind smiles and immaculate vibes. Seth looked after us and he was SO lovely and helpful. We were in full costume (Halloween), as were the staff, and headed to a concert after--Seth helped us make the best menu decisions to meet our needs and allowed us to split a soup and entree so we weren't uncomfortably full going out after. Every recommendation he made was proven to be the right one. We had the crab cakes, mushroom soup, and the short rib
