Stopped in for a coffee and was instantly taken in by the quirky, funky charm of the place. The Grateful Dead inspired vibe is strong in the best way. From the art on the walls to the throwback music playing, it all felt intentional and welcoming. I took photos and immediately sent them to friends who are big Deadheads, I know they’d love it here. We grabbed a couple of lattes (both excellent) and tried the vegan bacon, egg & cheese sandwich along with the regular one, both were really good. I was excited to try the gluten-free French toast, but it was very dry and seemed to have little to no egg coating. Unfortunately, the service wasn’t great either—I asked for a gluten-free order and it was brought out on a regular roll. The dining area was also freezing, which made the experience less enjoyable overall.

9:15 Saturday morning and I decided to catch breakfast at Stella as I have done many times previously. Sitting on the couch near the door enjoying a sandwich when a German shepherd unleashed while the owner is at the counter 20 to 25 feet away comes right over to my 2 foot high table and sniffs my food. I immediately block it from eating it. In a minute or so the dog owner waltzes over and suggests I guess he liked your food. I suggest he should be leashed and then ask I dont even get an apology. He walks away with the dog andv5 minutes later leaves. I then drop my platter near the counter and

When told that I’d just sliced open my heavy pants on sharp protrusion at the counter, worker’s first response was, “it’s not all about you.” When less busy, and when shown the sharp edge his responses were, “ what do you want me to do about it?” and “No one else ever complained.” Suggested proper response include: “thank you for telling me. I’m sorry. I’m glad it wasn’t the face of one of the little kids walking there.” Best business practice would have been to offer to buy a future coffee as neither myself nor the four women I was with are likely to ever step foot in there again!
