The three meat plate was pretty good. The brisket was tender and tasted good without any sauces. Chicken a little dry and under seasoned but still okay. The bratwurst was good with their selection of housemade sauces like the mustard and sweet and hot bbq sauce. The pickles were a little limp but onions in the pickles gave it an overall crunch. 4 cheese Mac and cheese was one of the best I’ve had but the cornbread had left little to be desired dry and flavorless but it was only $1 can’t complain really. Ordered the two meats combo that came with two sides for a pick up order to go. The food was done in a timely manner and packaged with care. The actual food was great with the macaroni and cheese being the stand out for me. The baked beans were different from the normal taste I’m used to but in a good way. The coffee brisket was a different flavor than what I’m used to but it was good. I loved the ribs and how juicy they appeared when unwrapping with seasoning. I can’t wait to order from them again and get those delicious sauces they serve.

I was really excited to try Blue Pit BBQ after seeing it named Maryland’s 2026 Best BBQ Joint, but my experience was super disappointing. Service was friendly and welcoming upon walk-in, but that was the best part of our experience. The food sadly did not match the reputation. EVERYTHING came out lukewarm, the brisket was overcooked and dry, cornbread was burnt and hard, greens had no seasoning, and the baked beans were overwhelmingly vinegary. The bratwurst was underwhelming with no real snap, and even the B-side drink was way too sour. The mac & cheese and coffee BBQ sauce were the only good

Places show their true colors when things go awry. My pickup order got messed up tonight. Blue pit made it right, right away, no questions asked. And they were busy. Customer service matters. Not only is the bbq outstanding, so are the people that work there. Make sure you give it a try. It won’t disappoint.
