I had such a great experience at Chicago Gyro Plus! When I first walked in, it looked empty, and I thought the restaurant might be closed. The man at the counter quickly assured me they were open — and even said that as long as the door is open, he’d be happy to take my order. I ordered the chicken salad and watched as they pulled out fresh chicken and grilled it right in front of me. They had a variety of toppings to choose from, and I was excited to see mushrooms — something I’ve never seen offered at other gyro spots. Since I love mushrooms, that was definitely a bonus! I was pleasantly surprised. Food was very good, fresh made, with generous portions. We only tried the gyro sandwich combos, but other items looked good. The restaurant is simple and reasonably clean. The gentleman working was very courteous, and quick to serve. He stopped to take a phone order, and immediately changed his gloves when done. Small but often overlooked cleanliness detail, that I appreciated.

This is a very good gyro place with a hole in the wall feel. The price for the proportions you get is a very good deal. They have as many topping options as subway. Salad types and tzatziki sauce and salads were delicious. If I’m in town again I’ll be back!
