We were staying at Hermosa beach and decided to try this restaurant. Order was placed online and I picked up. We ordered the cheese burger with mushrooms, fries, and pistachio ricotta cake. Burger was cooked well but also juicy and delicious. Mushrooms were earthy and pleasant, and fries were well seasoned. Cake was also great, it was very fluffy and light, not heavy or overpowering at all. My only problem is (and I hope the owners are reading this): we got a lot of pastry with our order which we did not order. I think it was a bread, and some toast... Zanes has become a Hermosa Beach institution located right at Pier and Hermosa Ave. They offer plentiful options including steak, seafood, pasta and more. Their cioppino is one of the best you will ever have.. very fresh and the seafood is not overcooked.. even the calamari rings are tender. ZANE'S is my favorite restaurant in the south bay. First of all, they make my favorite drink in all of Los Angeles, the Sunset @ Pier Ave -- a gin-based cocktail with st. Germaine and lavender, etc. The salsicce Blanco is to die for and all the pastas are great. The artichoke is a fantastic perfectly-cooked appetizer. Possibly my favorite dinning during a recent visit to Hermosa. I stopped in for an early dinner around six on a weekday and was seated immediately. Waiter let me know I could choose from their normal dinner menu or even their Social Hour menu if i wanted to try some small plates .
