Nice people, good food and very good variety. We stopped for a quick bite to eat while vacationing in Hilo on a Sunday. It was busy, they were pretty quick and friendly. The food was good. We got a Keiki meal (cheeseburger) and garlic cheese fries. Both great. A lot of locals there as well as tourists. All the food on the menu looked very good.

Four stars are about right. The restaurant is dated, as is most of the places in the area. Staff was friendly. There are a few picnic tables around the side that are clean-ish. We got the Chicken Katsu, the Smoke Meat w/onions, and a cheeseburger deluxe. The Katsu was amazing. Great taste and nice crunch. The Smoke Meat was smoked pork belly. Lots of smokey taste. I like pork belly, but some people might not enjoy the fat in pork belly. The rice was average, and the mac-n-cheese was as good as most places. They forgot the "deluxe" part of the cheeseburger, so we needed to go back and have it

You will not be disappointed with this Gem if you're looking for something quick to eat. Ordered the fish plate and I was pleasantly surprised, the breading was delicious, fish was not soggy, it was very tasty. The Mac salad was definitely impressive, homemade of you all me, and a generous portion of rice. My only gripe for the 1 start reduction is the price, it's pushing a restaurant price point and I'm not sure it competes there, but it was tasty. I would order a whole extra side of the Mac salad. Great location, I will definitely return!
