This was my first time going to Bosphorus, I did make reservations before we went based on reviews. It was my first time trying Turkish coffee, and I absolutely loved it! For other first-time visitors, I recommend letting the coffee sit for about 30 seconds before taking a sip so the fine grounds can settle to the bottom. Also, don't stir it after it's served, as that will bring the grounds back up into the coffee. Be sure to leave the last sip or two in the cup, since that's where the grounds collect. Food was good and the ambiance was nice. It’s a small, cute restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. However, the service needs improvement. It was quite slow, and they even forgot to bring one of the drinks we ordered. The restaurant was not very full, so it was surprising that they were struggling to keep up. Overall, a decent experience for the food, but better service would make a big difference.

Here is a balanced version: They confirmed that they serve halal food. Personally, I prefer halal restaurants that do not sell alcoholic drinks, but overall our experience was good. We tried the Bosphorus Special Platter, which was around $50, and the Doner Kebab Platter. The taste was decent, and the portion was enough for six people, including two kids. I hope they continue serving authentic halal food and maintain good quality.

Cute homey cafe decorated with lots of rugs and knickknacks. Owner and staff are very friendly and attentive. We had the appetizer platter and it was amazing. Their tabouli is different than any we've had before but very good. The lentil soup was simple but delicious. Turkish delight is a good option for vegetarians. Baklava is the best we've had outside of the Middle East. We went two nights in a row when we were visiting Indianapolis because it was that good. If we're ever back in the city we're definitely coming back to this place.
