Ricky’s Cafe is my home away from home. This is our true neighborhood gem. Since coming here I've seen folks come from out of town back to visit the staff as they truly are like our neighborhood family friends. I’ve seen folks that flew in from LaGuardia stop here first or back on their way out as well as they have had friends tip them off to our cosy little spot! The best of the best avocado toast I’ve ever had in my life!! Looks like a huge portion, but salad is pretty light, the bread is not too hard as usually avocado toast is, and super easily to cut, the dressing is so tasty. Would love to be back when I travel to NYC again.

I ordered an omelette with a side of pancakes. The omelette normally comes with potatoes, so I asked if I could substitute the potatoes for extra bread. The waitress offered several alternatives, including fruit and rice, and I chose fruit. However, I was not informed that the fruit substitution would incur an additional charge. I think that's enough for a restaurant that is proud of its own food. I saw people walking down this street happily eating out of the window. Finally, today I am eating here, and the customers' happy faces are not just the taste of the food. The bright face and kindness of the owner and staff make me feel like I am eating at home.
