(1/15/26) I had a mixed experience at Hen & Egg in Jackson, MS. Unfortunately, the breakfast was not good. The grits were runny and had no seasoning at all. The potatoes were not true country-style breakfast potatoes and were very hard, with barely any seasoning. The biscuit was just okay honestly, Mary B’s frozen biscuits from the grocery store taste better. On the positive side, the lunch sides were really good. I absolutely love The Hen N Egg!!! The first time I visited, I had the shrimp and grits. The grits melted in my mouth and the shrimp were really flavorful. I loved my experience so much that I planned my birthday party and had it there. The party was a hit. My guests loved everything about it. They were thrilled with the field salad and smoked wings. I will brag on Chef Wallace and his staff to anyone everywhere.
