We visited Old Town Mexican Café in Key West, and as vegetarians, we were pleasantly surprised by how many great options they had. We started with chips and salsa, which were fresh and absolutely delicious. For our main course, we ordered enchiladas. They originally came with zucchini and squash, but we requested a replacement with only onions, bell peppers, and fresh diced jalapeños, and the staff happily accommodated our request at no extra cost. Supposed to be more upscale Mex fare, of course overpriced for being in the middle of KW. Food was decent but unfortunately we were not “waited on”. Took our order, gave us a carafe of water and never refreshed or returned to check on us. Finally brought our ticket and cleared our plates but then after waiting another 10 minutes to pay I just walked up to the bar to find someone to cash me out and I felt like I was offending them by asking to pay. Food is ok, but need improvement on the service side.
