Mark Middleton★★★★★Pepe’s Cafe is more than a restaurant—it’s a living piece of Key West history. Founded in 1909, Pepe’s has been serving meals to locals, fishermen, writers, visitors, and island characters for well over a century. Just think about that for a moment. This restaurant was serving breakfast before Florida became a major tourist destination, before the Overseas Highway connected the Keys, and before most of us were even a thought. The history alone makes it worth a visit, but fortunately the food and atmosphere are equally deserving of the reputation that Pepe’s has earned over the decades. What
Charles Vega★★★★★Pepe’s was a fantastic restaurant in Key West. The 2nd oldest restaurant in Florida is still open for a reason! I had the blackened Mahi sandwich which was fresh. The coleslaw on the side was flavorful and drenched in sauce which I enjoyed. They have a great selection of drinks too. I went with the Pepe’s ale which was light and perfect for sitting outside on a hot day! Be sure to order a slice of the key lime pie, it was our favorite slice on the island!
La★★★★★Since 1909 - oldest restaurant in the State of Florida- there’s a reason it’s still here 117 years later - this no frills rustic “ fish shack “ has some good food - large portions- at reasonable prices ! Don t miss it ! Would go again ! We picked this out of our key west landmarks to go too. Locals know it ! Good service - bustling at breakfast but no wait to get a table !
Laura Thomas★★★★★Fantastic dinner at Pepe's. We stumbled on this place after enjoying the sunset at the marina and were impressed by the old history of the restaurant and packed tables. They were able to fit us in despite not having a reservation and we quickly became friends with the table of people next to us. I ordered the fish special with yellowtail and prepared "pepe style". My husband ordered fish trio. Both were fantastic, but I think I liked the thick creamy sauce on his dish slightly more than mine. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert. We'd definitely go back next time we visit key West
