Came for a late weekday lunch and the place had mostly cleared out from the lunch rush. Server was great and the food was fantastic. - Went with the recommendations for french onion soup and the mussels. Both exceeded expectations. - The entrees all came with fries which reminded us of In-N-Out Burger fries, hand cut and fried fresh. - The arugula salad was a nice appetizer/side and a very large portion for a low price. - Tiramisu was a classic. While it wasn’t made in house, the server mentioned it was sourced from a popular place in downtown Chicago

We are in town for our son‘s graduation from the US Navy Boot Camp. We happened upon this place as our Airbnb is right down the street. What an amazing experience! Our server, Abby, was beyond wonderful. I cannot say enough about her and how great she was! And the food! These are the best chicken wings I think I have ever eaten. Best gastropub in the area. The ambiance is absolutely perfect in the Firkin. The lighting, decor and staff makes every visit memorable. They have a great selections of beer and cocktails they offer. Their calamari is delicious and they have a good selection of shareable plates. As for dinner, you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. I've never had a bad meal. It is very obvious the owners put a lot of thought every aspect, from every dish served down to the beautiful artwork on the walls.

Giving it a 3 based on the menu. Service was amazing. Atmosphere great. However I was expecting a more German style menu and it was a little too random. Tacos? The pretzel appetizer was a small pretzel, I thought for sure it would have been larger.
