What a location. Easy walk from anywhere near the Manhatten Beach waterfront area. From first entering, the staff were super friendly and willing to help. At the time I went, about 2pm on a Wednesday, it was open sitting. The weather was nice so I chose to sit at one of about 8 tables on their patio. The inside had lots of tables to accommodate larger groups. My order was taken quickly and chips and salsa were brought out faster than other restaurants I've eaten at. Welcome home! El sombrero is one of the few places where I found myself smiling the entire time, from entering through the doors to stepping out of them. The food is second to none! The burrito are mega packed, and although I've never had fajitas that look like this, it was still fantastic tasting. There are many indicators as you sit down that this place is something special. Multiple families came in the ran to the head waitress and hugged her like an auntie. Maybe she is their auntie. It was very clear this is a place locals come, which means something. Everyone was friendly. The food was awesome. I got chicken mole and would order it again. Spoke fluent Spanish and English. If you’re around and want real Mexican food this is a good place to stop in.
