I happened to come across this nice little diner while I was in the area for an event nearby. I am happy that I stopped in for a quick bite. The hospitality in this place is truly fantastic. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. Since I came for breakfast, my server recommended the Farmer's Omelet, which was really good and plentiful. The coffee here is good as well and is included with the price of the meal. They have a great sized menu with plenty of options, and everything is priced reasonably. Walked in on the hottest day of the summer, today. 100 degrees outside, was greeted and seated near the AC - there were only 3 tables with people seated (not busy at all) 2 of the tables people were already eating and one was waiting to order. Me and my son waited almost 10 minutes for the waiter to come back around and ask if we were ready to order. Didn’t even bring us water. I asked if we could have water and he said sure and if we needed more time to order and I told him no we could order at that moment and he said ok and literally walked away. LMAO. I used a delivery app to get food delivered to my job and what a nice suprise. The City Diner did not dissapoint. It's very rare that you get a perfect order with food delivery apps but today was perfect. Excellent eggs, cheese, fries and large pork sausage links. My order came with homefries (I didn't know they were included), and it was great. not too much onions and peppers so that it overwhelms the potatos. Coffee instructions weren't followed as they used milk instead of cream but it too was great. I will order again and again from here, fast delivery btw .

I order delivery from here about once a week and it's always great. Delivery is fast and the food is hot and fresh. Their delivery driver Jamie is great, incredibly kind and courteous. One of my favourite diners in NYC.
