Coming from KC and having already had a bad experience of bbq in Memphis, we were skeptical. But a local promised us it was worth a try. So we got a half slab of ribs wet and a small order of pulled pork nachos. The ribs were sticky, a slight tang, subtle smoke, and delicious. Still like ribs in KC better but this was legit. The pulled pork was good and the portion of meat was really good for nachos. The sauce is self serve and warmed! The drinks are self serve which is nice. We enjoyed Central and would go again.

We went to Central BBQ last night. It was truly amazing. Me and 2 mates, from England, and we wanted the authentic smokehouse experience. And that’s what we got. From the outside we thought it didn’t look up to much, but stepped inside and were hit with the full atmosphere. We got there for 6.45pm on a Monday and it was busy. You queue up and wait to place your order, then take your seat anywhere and await the epic food. I went for the ribs combo plate with Mac&cheese and bbq beans sides. And also got a peanut butter pie. Perfect meal when visiting the National Civil Rights Museum. The restaurant is merely steps away. I visited with my three kids ages 14, 12, and 10. There was a line to order, but it moved fast. There is lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The food was great and the staff was helpful. Great portion sizes!
