Absolutely delicious dinner at McEwen's. Everything was so perfect and our server was awesome. We started with the baked brie which was the best brie we've had anywhere. Next was the goat cheese salad, which my husband declared his favorite salad he has ever had. The orange and the goat cheese were really special together. For our meal we had the spare rib pasta and their famous osso bucco. Both were fantastic, and I particularly appreciated the light hand on the truffle flavor in the pasta, which made it one of the best pastas I have ever eaten. My wife and I went for lunch. Food was great! Reasonably priced, we each ordered a meal and split a desert for under $50. The atmosphere was very cool, looked old and well worn but clean and inviting. The owner and his business partner were friendly and chatted us up giving us some info on the history of the restaurant and the surrounding city. The slice of pickle served w your sandwich is wildly dill and a little spicy, we loved it. The decor was fun and I swear I saw someone famous! Excellent experience!! All of the staff, including our server, Grace, were wonderful. The food was delicious. Drinks were fine, but not rave-worthy. We shared the Purple Hull Pea Hummus which was fantastic (only criticism was that the pita accompanying it was in strips, vs wedges, so it was difficult to eat). The Caesar salad was great. Popped in here for lunch and immediately knew I’d try the Friday catfish lunch special. I love a restaurant that’s flexible on changing up the sides, and McEwen’s doesn’t charge extra for it. The cornmeal fried catfish was extremely delicious! The server is sweet and extremely helpful in giving me the tartar sauce to go. I will definitely come back just to have it again.
