Paid $55 for the most awful food that I literally could have made at home! Caprese toast made on sliced wonder bread with shredded cheese and a few chopped pieces of tomato and avocado toast on whole wheat sliced bread with packaged avocado and a fried egg. I LITERALLY could have made this crap at home and below is pics to prove it. Honestly go somewhere else.

Cai’s Cafe is a chill spot that gets the job done. The coffee and drinks are fine - nothing extraordinary, but perfectly serviceable. You can probably find higher-quality options in the surrounding area, but Cai’s makes up for it with a relaxed vibe, friendly people, and a space that works well for hanging out or getting some studying done. Overall, it’s an average cafe in the most respectable way possible. Not every place needs to change your life. Sometimes it just needs to give you a drink, a seat, and a place to exist for a bit.

What a pleasant experience… great coffee and outstanding food! Faced with a day where I needed to hang around Metuchen for a few hours, I randomly tried Cai’s to sit and plug in my laptop and do a little work. Well, it was so comfortable…the staff were welcoming … even the customers around me were pleasant and in good spirits…which I think is a reflection of the cafe. The coffee was great and the food was so fresh and so good … best Bacon Chicken Wrap I’ve ever had. I’ll be back…on purpose next time. Thank you Cai’s for such a pleasurable experience

Love the vibe of the place but the last few times I’ve been it just hasn’t been good. The drinks feel rushed and not made well. I really hate paying $9 for an iced drink for them to accidentally make it hot and dump it over ice. If you make a drink wrong, please just remake it.
