Went here on a Wednesday morning around 8am. Place wasn't packed. Parking a little difficult to find. As the purported inventors of the Mission Burrito we definitely had to step in to check it out. The inside of the store harkens back to a time when Monte Carlos, sideburns and thick mustaches were the fad. Very 70's-80's vibes. The tile mural adorning the top portion of the restaurant is very beautiful and gives it a very local feel. The menu board is even unchanged. Really a genuine, down to earth establishment for your burrito or taco fix. Patience was given in bucketloads to myself as a foreigner who doesn't know their way around the menu. I had tacos, super tasty, no frills just good stuff. They asked if I wanted spicy, I said yes, just a squirt of hot sauce but it packs a good punch without overpowering. Love it. Apparently this is a historical place with claim to influence development of the mission burrito as you might know it today, and home of the super burrito.

I got the largest burrito with al pastor and it was a reasonable $17 after tax. It was generally solid but unremarkable. The meat was flavorful and properly portioned but there was a chunk of cartilage. The lettuce was very limp and detracted from the burrito, while the tomatoes were fine. The rice and refried beans were good and there was the right amount of cheese. I specified spicy salsa but couldn't detect anything, and the side salsa was bland and watery. The small portion chips wasn't homemade but was crispy. Service is fast and there was no line at 6:00 p.m. on a Thursday. If I
