Ricky Moon★★★★★Tried Ethiopian food for the first time here and was blown away. I was in town and wanted to see the Jazz performance of Julia Danielle (amazing btw highly recommend) and met some friends for a nice, relaxed Sunday evening. We got a mix of sambusas which I highly recommend. They were so good and always brought out fast. The main dishes took more time, but were amazing. We shared a mix of food. The bread was so spongy and perfect for the mix of flavors. Injera is a must while here!
Yanoh Bah★★★★★Five stars! This was my first time trying Ethiopian food and Massawa did not disappoint. I ordered the veggie combo and it was so, so good. Everything was flavorful, well seasoned, and such a fun first experience with Ethiopian cuisine. I also tried the sambusas (the little meat pies!) and they were delicious too, a perfect starter. The prices were actually really reasonable, especially for New York. The only thing I’d mention is parking can be tough, but honestly that’s pretty standard for a busy NYC area, so not really a negative. I’d definitely come back. Actually planning my next trip now
Dick Whiting★★★★★Wonderful East African restaurant serving Eritrean & Ethiopian fare. The space and the staff are warm and inviting. I had a hot cup of cinnamon coffee while I waited on the rest of my party to arrive, I recommend it. Laid back cozy vibe, with space to chill while waiting for your table. We had lunch and the prices were great, and the portions generous. We had samplings of the vegan and vegetarian offerings, they offer different levels of spice and their were five in our group with everyone stated and happy. One person in our group also had salmon and attested to its tastiness, it certainly loo
Luis Martos★★★★★Very friendly service. Food was delicious with a twist of no utensils. We started with the Sambusa Duo followed by the Fitfit Tebesi and Zegeni with injera. Both delicious with the spicier Zegeni. Great experience.
