Maybe I should have lowered my expectations? I've heard a lot of good things about the ramen here. It was okay, but nothing near as good as I expected. I've had much less expensive ramen in the Salt Lake valley that just tasted better. The Gyoza are very onion forward. You'll like them if you like onions. On that note, we asked for no onions in our ramen and they left them in. Accidents happen. Not a big deal. The waiter was great. Friendly and not overbearing. The food was just mediocre. The current owner has really made a name for himself after training for years in Japan to make sushi (with a lengthy return to Japan to perfect ramen) and his entire staff create works of art at every meal. Kobe is, by far, my favorite restaurant in the valley. They have THE BEST food, and the staff is AMAZING. I could eat here 3x a week (which I've done many times) for the rest of my life. The sashimi is to die for, and the specialty rolls and Ramen are unparalleled. Sit at the bar and ask for the Omakase (Chef's choice), at least once in your life - you will not be disappointed.

We had just finished a full day at the 5th water hot springs and this was a perfect way to end the night. The restaurant itself was packed there were no tables available when we arrived at 6:00 however we could use the countertop to sit which actually turn out to be a great experience. Watching chef Mike work his magic and carve up the fish was just a delight. The ramen hit the right spots and my belly was very happy. One of my friends tried the tuna belly that was slightly scotched and he was raving about it. The fish are flown right in from Japan's fish market so couldn't get any better
