Had breakfast at Sunny Side Up Cafe for the first time Saturday. I was looking for steak and eggs or a skillet. They don't offer those dishes and ended up getting a chicken fried steak. It is a breaded cut, fried and covered by two biscuits smothered with gravy. So, biscuits and gravy, breaded cutlet with two eggs. It was pretty good even though it was not what I was looking for. The atmosphere and service was good. The coffee was also good. There were children in the place that were barely noticed and on a sunny day the place is well lit and warm on a cold day.

Overall: very good, would return. Looking for a diner above the status quo? Good place to check out. Just happened to see this on the map and decided to stop. We ordered country fried steak, corned beef Benedict, badger ham and cheese sandwich, and the north cabin meal. For drinks we tried the bloody Mary and mimosa. They serve collectivo coffee. The bloodys, i think, have become our second favorite. They batch make it stepping citrus and peppers, and spices and horseradish. They were very good and simply garnished with an olive. I had pancakes and hash browns which were very good. Another person in my party ordered a poached egg which were not cooked correctly. It was sent back. The second time it was cooked correctly.

The service was wonderful! The feel of the restaurant was very small town cafe, very welcoming. The food was good, would return again. However some of the eggs were overcooked and the potatoes were cooked wonderfully but lacked any flavor. ALL the meat we tried was done AMAZINGLY. The drinks were great, just wish they had more options.
