Lupita greeted us with a genuine smile and like she was welcoming us into her own home. Angel took our order after delivering water to our entire party of 6. Very quickly we were served our lattes and fresh squeezed orange juice followed by the best eggs Benedict I have ever eaten. The lemon blueberry pancakes are a must try and the cinnamon French toast was delicious! Food was served quickly, piping hot and beautifully plated. I really wanted to like this place. I understand they were short-staffed on a weekday, and I tried to be patient with that. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. I was very disappointed with my experience at Lighthouse Restaurant in Newport. My grandson ordered chicken strips and had already eaten about half of one before we realized the chicken was undercooked. This is a serious food safety concern, especially when it involves a child. I called over the manager, Greg, and showed him the issue. He apologized, but then simply walked away without offering any meaningful solution or showing much concern for the situation.
