Nice reliable place down the street from my job. I had to battle with myself writing this review but this is like the fourth time I have went with in two weeks and I have to say the same thing over and over. I am starting to feel like it’s discrimination. Like why must you pack all that cream cheese on a sandwich. I have ask all the time please don’t put too much cream cheese and this what happens every time. I even ask for the cream cheese to be on the side and it’s still on the sandwich. So I think it’s my que to stop coming here and it sad because it’s a nice place but I want to go no where

A diamond in the rough (neighborhood). Shockingly good sandwiches! I did not expect a fantastic sandwich in addition to the expectedly delicious cookies. Per usual, this is achieved first and foremost through the bread. Simple and delicious.

They're named for the cookies, but the sandwiches are stellar. The Bates Street Special is up there with best sandwich in the district -- it is perfect every time. I have friends who order for pickup every time they come by my house because the Bates is just so fantastic. The cookies are great, too, but to me this is a lunch gem!

Every now and again I'd be eating somewhere that had the Uncle Chips cake cookie, and I'd always get it. Shoot, sometimes I'll even stop through and grab one from their brick and mortar location. The other day I was walking past and popped in to grab that cookie but this time I decided to order a sandwich. I ended up getting the Embassy of Turkey and chips, plus two cake cookies (one for now and one for later). Now I've been known to disparage ciabatta bread but this sandwich changed my mind. The ingredients were fresh and it is a lot of sandwich. The bread wasn't as tough as other ciabatta's
