My wife has a monthly doctor's appointment in The Woodlands, so after we are done we usually stop for a meal before heading home. As it was only 9 in the morning, we opted for breakfast at First Watch which is right around the corner from Methodist Hospital's professional building. The staff is super friendly and we were met with the door being opened for us and a hearty welcome from the front counter staff. Whelp…like real foodie jerks, we walked in 28 minutes before closing AND YET…we were greeted by our now new friend and favorite server, Jacob. What a rockstar. He took amazing care of us. He didn’t rush. He wasn’t in a hurry. He made AMAZING recommendations so we ordered the Blueberry Lemon Cornbread to start. It was absolutely outstanding. I ate every bite by myself and I am unashamed at my gluttony. I then ordered the trifecta and subbed lemon ricotta pancakes which were sooooooo good! Great food, great experience. Bathrooms were clean, there was a wait however went quickly. Food came out quick. All in all I’d return again .

I was really disappointed with the barbacoa chilaquiles. They were far from authentic. Instead of using freshly fried tortillas, it seemed like they just used chips straight from a bag, which made the texture and flavor feel cheap and untraditional. The sauce also tasted like something store-bought—overly sweet and lacking the depth and richness you’d expect from a homemade recipe. On top of that, the service made the experience worse. We waited about 10 minutes, and when our food arrived, the waiter didn’t even bring our full order. The host also sent us inside twice when we specifically ask
