Family friendly, kickass food and great service. Wanted to give mom a night off, so I took the kiddos out for an afternoon at the state park. I picked this place specifically because there’s a large grassy area out back where the kids can play and explore. Our server Devin took such good care of my family, checked in on us even as I was chasing toddlers around. Even recommended kid friendly food from the menu, which I really appreciated. Hope that they will continue to invest in the outdoor are because it motivated us to chose this over other places.

The fries were cut/ peeled in the restaurant and tasted like boardwalk fries. My Husband loved the ribs! I hope they bring a playground back so we can bring the kids. I would also like to see a more diverse kids meal option because the chef seems like they know what they are doing. Nick was our server and he was cool. Edited to add that we came during the week. The chef during the week is really good.

I love the Gunpowder Lodge. It is absolutely a little gem. We eat here fairly often and have never had a bad meal. The menu is a good mix of dishes that cover every taste. Everyone is kind. There is a bar and seated table dining. They also have a fantastic outdoor area. Everything about this place is comfortable and inviting. Many locals are regulars here. They always offer a specials menu, which just takes their offerings to next level. You would be hard pressed to find something negative to say about The Gunpowder Lodge.

We've been here a few times prior and saw that they started hosting a brunch buffet. We just had to check it out. $25 a person all you can eat, what a deal. The selection was good and the food tasted great. Prior to today's visit I would have to say I recommend getting their chili - it's delicious!
