Wow! I’d say this is some of the best food I’ve had in DC, and that’s saying a lot because I’ve had a lot of great meals! This was my first time eating at Chicatana and my only regret was waiting so long. The food is incredible! The ceviche’s in particular were outstanding. We had scallop aguachile, mixto, and kamp tiradito and they all $18 or less each and absolutely bursting with freshness and flavor. I was pleasantly surprised as a Mexican 🇲🇽🙋🏻‍♀️person and from the DMV area. The sopes were so delicious. They’re definitely very modern, but tasted so good. My Mexican mom can’t even make this. My partner got the Tlayuda, which was so good. I got two tongue tacos, and one shrimp taco and I love both of them, but the shrimp one was the best. I also got a side of beans and rice. Overall would come back here.

Excellent passionfruit ceviche appetizer. The Al pastor margaritas were the highlight along with the 4 Leches cake (yes, 4!) with homemade strawberry ice cream. Cafe ollo was best we’ve had in DC. See if you can get a seat on the patio. Prices very reasonable and felt like a steal for beautiful and tasty food. No misses and great service. A must visit.

My girlfriend and I have now been twice and I don't know that we'll go anywhere else. The guacamole is the best- fresh with cilantro and chili oil and salsa matcha. We also had sopes de pulpo, al pastor taco, carne asada taco, camaron al diablo taco, duck hurrache, and langosta taco- every bite was absolutely delicious. The pulpo fresh and cooked perfectly, the steak perfect MR-M, the shrimp were the perfect texture, and as someone who eats a lot of duck I can honestly say it's up there with some of the best I've had.
