Had a wonderful birthday dinner at Locanda Amalfi in downtown Pleasanton last Saturday! My friend and I wanted to try multiple items, so we asked to split the beet salad and the gnocchi. Impressed by the generous portion sizes. Highly recommended whether you live in Pleasanton or are visiting from San Ramon or Danville!

Excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of downtown. Food always lives up to the expectations. Service is excellent: they make you feel welcome and special. Kitchen is usually very quick. Parking is in a lot behind the restaurant, or on street. A must-visit; you will return time and again.

After seeing that Locanda ranked 5th best Neopolitan pizza in the world in 2025, I simply had to try. I’m not hyping it up to say that it’s simply the best pizza I’ve ever had. The dough. The cook. The sauce. The oil. The MOZZ. Every detail. Was perfection and I don’t say that lightly. GO EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF!

Cute little restaurant in downtown Pleasanton. Staff were friendly and attentive. Seating options both inside and out. The ambience was cozy and relaxing. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The stuffed zucchini blossoms had crust that was too thick and were very greasy. The bolognese tasted like it came out of a can. The margarita pizza sauce lacked flavor, had too much cheese and the crust was soggy. The best part of the pizza was the fresh basil.
