Such a charming diner run by the sweetest elders. They have been opened for 50+ years. Everything is super affordable and tasty as well! Small detail but I thought the sausage links were crisped perfectly. Awesome place for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Sweet Husband and Wife… so quaint and nostalgic. Was staying in walking distance, and came in with my Grand-daughter. We had the most delicious pancakes we have ever eaten, and even ordered some to go!!! The steak and eggs were delish. Perfect sunny side up eggs. So hard to find nowadays! The hash blew my mind… I could have eaten three helpings!!! Just typing this is making me long for them again! We were treated like family, because I was raised to be respectful. I cringe at how some people treat those that serve them at restaurants. We can’t wait to go back when I am back in town… ~ Σας ευχ

The absolute WORST burger I have EVER HAD! Everything was over cooked! The bun, the fries and the patty was the thinnest I have ever had! Skip the burger here! We just spent 7 hoyrs on an Amtrak and were starving. So disappointing!

Delightful family owned cafe in the Pearl District. Traveling to Portland on Business and was looking for a local and independent place to have breakfast. Stumbled on John's Cafe and so glad I did. It feels like a relic of the past with a small menu with all the American classics, everything made from scratch by the small team and run by a lovely couple. Could not recommend enough if you are staying in Portland and unmissable if you are in the Pearl.
