Visited the Redwood City Caltrain station North Plaza area today and honestly it has gotten pretty bad again. The railroad crossing control cabinet 754909K at the south end of the southbound platform is completely covered on all four sides with marker and paint, and it is not just tags. Whoever wrote it filled every inch with what reads like a personal crisis diary, including explicit references to suicide, past incarceration, carrying weapons, and psychiatric diagnoses. Increased police presence from RWC PD turning the abandoned store into a substation. Decreased drug use from underground Caltrain Commuter Parking Garage closure. Buildings repainted in fresh, modern grey/blue instead of 70s faded beige or 90s Matrix Green. Tolerable place to kill a few hours. Challenge: Try walking to the Port and back without getting run over by a car.

I've been going to this plaza off and on for almost ten years. I've used also the buses called Sam trans a few times. While there I go to Safeway, C. V. S., See's Candies shop etcetera etcetera, etcetera. One stop shop as they say.

Lots of stores and eateries plus safeway and CVS are in the same complex. Chase Bank and Barnes and Noble are also a stones throw away. From the other side of the track, it’s walking distance to downtown Redwood City. Ample free parking- what more can you ask for?
