What happened??? Been going to En Su Boca for over a decade, overnight it has changed completely and become a former shell of itself. Not sure if it has new management or ownership but honestly completely surprised and probably won’t be coming back any time soon. The new menu is missing a lot of the best items. The chips are now terrible and come out of bags and are mostly crumbs(see picture). Most Mexican restaurants offer free chips so if you are going to charge $5 they better not come cold out of a bag. This was my first time back here in several years and I was not disappointed. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for and the food was great. I got the chicken empanadas and a half and half rice and beans side. Everything was SEASONED well. I Will definitely be revisiting.

I am nothing short of obsessed with this restaurant, and I desperately wish it wasn’t a 2 hour drive away from me because I would be going weekly, if not daily! A friend took me out to lunch here years ago when I first visited her after she moved to Richmond, and I’ve made a point to stop here every time I’m in the area or driving through from NC to DC since. Since I was here last, it appears they’ve updated their menu, and the selection is still excellent. My group ended up ordering a series of items off the happy hour menu, which was an insane deal when shared amongst the table. Bonus points

Customer service was great, the bartender was very patient with me as I changed my mind on the menu at the last minute. The burrito is still delicious, but I like hot/spicy. Tbf, she said the arbol salsa was “smoky/spicy”, but I got excited when I was asked if I wanted it spicy or mild. Obvs I went with spicy. This sauce tastes more like a marinara at best.
