Cafe Bernardo Midtown was one of those places that made for a pleasant and relaxing brunch rather than a destination dining experience. During my visit to Sacramento, I decided to stop by for brunch and immediately appreciated the location. Situated in the heart of Midtown, the restaurant has a casual California feel that encourages you to slow down, enjoy the weather, and spend time with family or friends. Stopped by while staying near Fort Sutter Hotel and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was relaxed, the patio seating was nice, and the food came out fast. Good mix of coffee shop energy with a more polished brunch/lunch feel. Staff was friendly and attentive without overdoing it. Definitely a good spot if you want an easy breakfast or casual dinner in Sacramento. I’d come back.

Had a wonderful experience at Cafe Bernardo near the B Street Theater in Sacramento. Delicious food in a nice atmosphere. Excellent and friendly service. I ate there with my daughter, who had one of the pizzettas. They were happy to customize our orders, which you do not always find. I had a BLT, modifying their salmon BLT. Beautiful, rustic bread and fresh greens. BUT—the pièce de résistance—a phenomenal carrot cake that the waiter said the staff fight to obtain the last piece at closing. Ii can see why! It was not overly dense—just perfection. Recommend highly!

Bernardo Benedict was decent. The rosemary bread had hints of rosemary, the eggs were over pouched so not much runny, the ham tasted fresh and top quality and potatos were under cooked. Only a couple of gluten free options, which my partner wasn’t aware that chilaquiles were like nachos so he was disappointed. He said coffee was good, and the whole restaurant had an inviting space.
