This place certainly deserves to be in the Texas Monthly top bbq joints. Brisket was outstanding, bark was flavorful without too much smoke or salt. The sausage had Oaxaca cheese instead of cheddar, which I thought worked better, much better than average at most spots on the list. . Poblano grits were a surprising treat. Will definitely come back here next time I’m in San Juan. And the folks were super helpful too even after you took your seat. Only waited about 30 minutes, hot the 10 minutes before they opened.

GW’s BBQ was absolutely incredible. Honestly, it may have been the best BBQ I’ve ever eaten. The Wagyu ribs were unreal and quite possibly the single best bite of barbecue I’ve ever had. We tried every meat and every side, and every single thing was outstanding. The service was just as impressive as the food. We’re big foodies and always try to seek out the best spots, so we knew we had to come here. In fact, we drove out of state just to try it, and I’m so glad we did because this was the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Everything was absolutely delicious, and each dish had its own distinct flavor. The sides were just as impressive. My favorite was the jicama coleslaw, believe it or not. It was the best coleslaw I’ve ever had, bright and lemony with a slight kick of spice.
