Not a fancy restaurant, but the cashier was friendly, and our food came out quick. Don't come here if you are looking for frills. We were looking for a quick lunch. Husband did the clam chowder in a bread bowl. I did a bowl of clam chowder with a side Caesar. I also had a can of coke. Just shy of $50...got to love the crazy Seattle prices. We ate chowders at 3 different places over the week, and honestly, this was my favorite chowder. Loved the chowder, the water view and the quietness of this venue despite its location in the busy part of the market. My complaint : it was hot! Thank goodness

Sound View Cafe is a solid Pike Place stop with one of the best waterfront views of Elliott Bay. I had the breakfast sandwich—simple, fresh, and well executed. Service was quick despite the busy location. You’re really here for the view + reliable food, and it delivers. Perfect spot to sit, reset, and take in Seattle.
