Just. WOW. very impressive pizza tucked in the quiet part of derby, just down the road from dew drop wings. I was right about leaving early to get a seat. It's a small joint with an even smaller parking lot. Server was warm, friendly and immediately noticed that it was my first time and showed me the massive portions of the dishes served there. I ordered a medium meatball pizza and the shrimp Florentine that I regretted because of the tall price. The shrimp was huge, and plenty on the pizza so they made sure it was worth the money. My picky not so foodie friend ate here many, many years ago and she had a hankering to return so of course we went. This was my first visit. Old school, no frills neighborhood favorite that I was glad to get to try. We arrived around 4pm on a Saturday and while the place was pretty filled, there was only a few minutes wait. As others mentioned, there is no one to greet you at the entrance or tell you to write your name on the waitlist...so be sure to do that. Paper tacked on the wall. I have been waiting 4yrs to taste this pie. I heard so many great things about it. I told the gentleman over the phone, that I was traveling from New Haven, and that this would be my first experience. Well! I guess know one cared 😂. The pizza came burnt and dry. And also tastes like it was prepped a few days ago lol. I had to show a pic, so you would know, that I was telling the truth. Maybe it was a busy night, or the experience would have been better if I had dined in🤔. You know what! This pizza changed my life. It’s the best cheese pizza I’ve ever had, but I only took a photo of the pepperoni (which was still delicious but the cheese blew it out of the water). If I could have one pizza for the rest of my life it would be the cheese pizza here. I swear they put a Gouda or something on there because there’s a verryyyy subtle tang to it, but it’s perfect. I can’t believe it’s so far from me I may have to move nearby just to get better access to it. Skip all the other apizzas and go to rosewood, you will not be disappointed.
